Josh, Martin and Andrew debate the extended hours
We’re going to have to change the sign on the door again…
Due to popular demand, or more accurately, the fact that people just don’t seem to want to leave, we’re pleased to announce that we’re extending our opening hours at the weekend to 11pm on a Friday and Saturday and 9pm on a Sunday.
Happy days 🙂
The annual extravaganza that is Faversham Hop Festival is upon us once again. Hard to believe that one year ago Furlong’s first opened its doors as a ‘pop up’ micropub.

Furlong’s Ale House made an appearance at the 2014 Faversham Hop Fesitval in pop up form.
It was a fabulous weekend, we sold lots of amazing beer and talked to hundreds of lovely people. From that humble start we have been working behind the scenes to turn our dreams into reality – a proper micropub for Faversham.
On Thursday 18th December we proudly opened our doors, making Furlong’s the 99th micropub to open in the UK – surely there’s a gag there somewhere about ‘wanna flake with that’.
So, come along and try out some of our beers, test out the seats and strike up a conversation as that’s what a micropub is all about.
We’re lining up the beers in readiness for our Pop-up Micro Pub for the Hop Festival weekend (30th – 31st August 2014).
We plan to stock a varied range of beers over the Hop Festival weekend, including:
Gadd’s No. 5 (ABV 4.4%) from Ramsgate Brewery is a traditional Kentish best bitter ale with an aroma of toffee malt and fresh green hops, a fully body and lingering bitter finish. A complex, easy drinking best bitter using East Kent Goldings and Fuggles hops. This beer is sure to be one of our regulars.
Dark Star American Pale Ale, an award winning beer from Sussex’s Dark Star Brewing Co, this light, flavoursome ale gets some great reviews and is sure to go down a treat with the Hop Festival Crowd.
Genesis (ABV 3.5%) from Goody Ales in Herne, Kent, was recently awarded first prize for Best Hopped Ale in Kent 2013 AND Winner of BEST KENTISH BEER 2014 in the Taste of Kent Awards – the beginning beer, a dark ruby coloured single hop ale with a full flavour and lasting bitter finish.
Spirit of Kent (ABV 4%) from Westerham Brewery golden ale is hopped with 9 different types of Kent bred and Kent grown hops in a total of 9 separate additions. That really is the Spirit of Kent – a beer with probably the most types of hops on the planet….?
Faversham Hop Festival
Friday 29th August – 5pm – 10pm
Saturday 30th August – 12 noon – 10pm
Sunday 31st August – 12 noon – 6pm
Work continues on micro pub this week in readiness for our Pop Up version on Friday 29th August for the Faversham Hop Festival weekend.
Sadly we don’t have time to get a beautiful sign, so we’ve asked the lovely chaps at SEC Signworks to print us a temporary banner.
So, now you’ll know a micro pub when you see it.

Well would you look at that, our change of use application has acquired a new status! I’m grinning so widely it’s hurting my cheeks! Whoopee!
Massive thanks to everyone who submitted their supportive comments – we’re truly grateful.
Please come and say hello over the Hop Festival weekend.
